Purpose: Identifying the activities and role profiles of waste pickers who have adverse working and housing conditions is important in order to promote the well-being and health of waste pickers and show problems limiting this promotion. The study aims to identify activity and role profile of waste pickers who are doing this job at least for one month in the Iskitler region of Ankara. Material and Methods: Quantitative and qualitative research methods were used in this study. The universe of the study was formed by 700-800 waste pickers. The certain number of waste-pickers isn’t known, because they don’t join the association because of living problems with municipality and working in some seasons. The sample selected by random sampling method in the universe and the universe constitute approximately 5% in 30 male workers constitute recycling. The data was collected through structured questionnaires and diseases form designed by the researcher and through Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) after doing a careful literature review. The questionnaires were filled through face to face interviews. Results: It is found that the areas of activity performance is more important self-care activities. In the self care activities, take a bath (9,2±1,6) is very important for waste pickers. After take a bath, the second activity is talking on the phone (9±1,98). The job as a waste-piskering is a dirty and compulsory job and this job has a lower level for waste-pickers. The ‘Death, survival, plastic ’ sentence of waste picker was best summed up to waste pickers’ point of view for their job. conclusion: The research shows that 83.3% of the wastepickers worked at least 11 hours, 53% of the waste-pickers has a negative attitude to their own work, 50% of the waste-pickers has a thing that the community have a negative attitude to waste-pickers
