Balkan Ülkelerinde Yükseköğrenim Gören Türk Öğrencilerin Eğitim Deneyimleri

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı Balkan ülkelerinde yükseköğrenim gören Türk öğrencilerin eğitim deneyimlerini incelemektir. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından olgu bilim desenine sahip bu çalışmada yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılı güz döneminde Balkan ülkelerinde yükseköğrenim gören, amaçlı örneklem yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme metodu kullanılarak belirlenen on beş öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen veriler nitel araştırma yöntemleri doğrultusunda kodlanarak temalar altında toplanmış ve içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırma bulgularına göre Balkan ülkelerinde yükseköğrenim gören Türk öğrencilerin eğitim deneyimleri ile ilgili düşüncelerinde birbirlerine benzer ve farklı görüşler mevcuttur. Öğrenciler Avrupa standartlarına göre eğitim kalitesinin düşük olmasını, yeterli düzeyde öğrenmenin gerçekleşmemesini, eğitim ortamlarını, kullanılan kaynakları, sınav sistemini ve staj uygulamalarını memnuniyetsizlikleri görüşlerinde gerekçe olarak bildirmiştir. Öğrencilerin memnuniyet olarak ifade edilen görüşlerinde ise ekonomik ve kültürel değerler kapsamında eğitimin ucuzluğu ve yükseköğrenim görülen şehrin sakinliği olarak ifade edilmiştir. Bu bağlam da Balkan ülkelerinin öğrenci hareketliliği politikalarının incelenmesi ve farklı ülkelerden gelip burada yükseköğrenim gören öğrencilerin memnuniyetsizliklerinin değerlendirilerek belirli alanlarda değişim ve yeniliğe gidilmesi önerilmektedir.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the educational experiences of Turkish students who have received higher education in the Balkans. In this study with the factual scientific pattern of qualitative research approaches, a semi-structured conversation technique has been used. The work group consists of fifteen students who have received higher education in the Balkans during the 2019-2020 academic year and are identified using the standard sampling method from targeted sampling methods. The data obtained from the talks were coded according to the quality research methods and collected under themes and subjected to content analysis. According to the research findings, the views of Turkish students in the Balkans on their educational experiences are similar and different. Students have that the quality of education according to European standards is low, that learning at a sufficient level is not achieved, the educational environments, the resources used, the exam system and the internship practices are justified in their opinions of dissatisfaction. In the opinions expressed as satisfaction by the students, the economic and cultural values of education and the peace of the city viewed by higher education were expressed. This context also suggests the study of the students’ mobility policies of the Balkans countries and the assessment of the dissatisfaction of students from different countries and higher education here to go to change and innovation in certain areas.

The aim of this research is to examine the educational experiences of Turkish students studying in Balkan countries. This study has a science design, a qualitative research approach, and uses the semi-structured interview technique. The study group consists of 15 students studying in Balkan countries during the fall 2019 semester and was determined using the criterion sampling method, a purposeful sampling method. The data obtained as a result of the interviews has been coded in accordance with qualitative research methods, collected under themes, and subjected to content analysis. With respect to the research findings, Turkish students have similar as well as different opinions about their experiences in Balkan countries. The students have expressed the reasons for their dissatisfaction as: the low quality of education with respect to European standards and inadequate learning, used resources, the exam system, and internship applications. The students expressed satisfaction with their views on the low cost of education, the calm of the city, and their higher education being provided within the scope of economic and cultural values. In this context, examining the student mobility policies of the Balkan countries is recommended, as well as changing and innovating in certain areas by evaluating the dissatisfaction of students studying there who are from different countries.
