Abstract:

This research was carried out in order to determine the baglama learning processes and the vocalization styles of Erzurum folk poets who continue the tradition of minstrelsy. Qualitative research method was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of folk poets living in Erzurum who continue the tradition of Erzurum minstrel tradition today. As a data collection tool in the study, the "personal information form" related to the demographic information of the study group and the interview form prepared to reveal the "how the minstrels learn baglama and vocalize baglama" were used. Research data were analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The data obtained from the minstrels were examined in four themes: "The Process of Learning Minstrelsy", "The Process of Self-Development in Minstrel", "Bağlama Vocalization Styles of Minstrels" and "Challenges in the Minstrelsy Process". As a result of the research, the minstrels; It was determined that they learned the baglama by watching and listening to the minstrels and artists, and by having their master show it and have it done, they had a willingness to improve playing the baglama, they constantly repeated it, they listened to those who played it well, and they worked on plectrum and ornamentation. It has been seen that the minstrels generally use a broken order and baglama order, and they give opinions such as finger, arm and body comfort, obtaining the desired sound in baglama and habit. It was concluded that the minstrels reported that they had difficulties in the minstrel process in general and that these difficulties were technical, professional and motivational difficulties.
