Abstract:

Günümüzde Bartın ilinin Ulus ilçesine bağlı Kumluca ve etrafındaki köyleri içine alan Keçenos (Gocanaz) bölgesi, 19. Yüzyıl Osmanlı idari teşkilatlanmasında Bolu Eyaletinin, Viranşehir Sancağına bağlı Keçenos Kazası olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu kazayı ele alan çalışmamıza temel olan 1842/43 tarihli nüfus defteri, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Devlet Arşivleri Müdürlüğü BOA arşivinde, Nfs.d 767 numara ile kayıtlıdır. Çalışma konusu defter, sayfa usulü ile numaralandırılmış olup toplam 70 sayfadan oluşmaktadır. Defterde nüfus kayıtları hane esasına göre tutulmuştur. Nüfus verilerinin kaydedilmesinde hane reisi esas alınmış, ilk olarak hane reisi yazıldıktan sonra sırayla o hanede yaşayan erkek nüfus kaydedilmiştir kadın nüfusa dair ise herhangi bir bilgi bulunmamaktadır. Erkek nüfusun kaydında isim, baba ismi, lakap, yaş ve eşkâl bilgileri verilmiş, şahısların fiziksel özellikleri ve engellilik durumları da not edilmiştir. Bu özellikleri itibarı ile diğer nüfus defterlerinin tipik özelliklerini yansıttığı görülmektedir. Defterde en çok tekrarlanan isimler Mehmed, Hasan, Ali, Ahmed, Mustafa ve İbrahim’dir. Bu çalışmada, 1842/43 yıllarına ait 767 numaralı nüfus defterindeki verilerin değerlendirilmesi suretiyle Keçenos Kazasının demografik yapısı ve sosyal hayatı ele alınacaktır. THE SOCIAL LIFE IN KEÇENOS TOWN ACCORDING TO THE POPULATION REGISTRY BOOK NUMBER 767 Abstract: Keçenos (Gocanaz) location, which today includes Kumluca and the surrounding villages of Ulus district of Bartın province, in the 19th century Ottoman administrative organization, appears as the Keçenos District of the Viranşehir Sanjak of the Bolu Province. The population registry book dated 1842/43, which is the basis of our study dealing with this town, is available at the BOA Ottoman Archive of the at the Turkish Republic Prime Ministry General Directorate of State Archives, with the number of Nfs.d 767. Population registry book, belonging to the year 1842/43, is numbered in the page style and consists of 70 pages in total. Population records were kept on the basis of households in the book. Recording the population data was based on the head of the household, after the head of the household was written first, the male population living in that household was recorded respectively There is no information about the female population. In the registration of the male population, name, father's name, nickname, age and description information were given, and the physical characteristics and disability status of the persons were also noted. With these features, it is seen that it reflects the typical features of other population registers. The most repeated names in the book are Mehmed, Hasan, Ali, Ahmed, Mustafa, and İbrahim. In this study, the demographic structure and social life of Keçenos District will be discussed by evaluating the data in the population book numbered 767 belonging to the years 1842/43.
