Dijitalleşme, sosyal hayatın tüm alanlarında olduğu gibi eğitim alanında da kendisini e-öğrenme ve uzaktan eğitim uygulamaları ile hissettirmeye başlamışken, Covid-19 kaynaklı pandemi sebebiyle ani bir şekilde yüz yüze eğitim kesintiye uğramış ve eğitim hizmetleri tüm kademelerde büyük oranda uzaktan eğitim ile yürütülmüştür. Birçok açıdan zorlu geçen bu süreç, uzaktan eğitim uygulamalarının bundan sonra eğitim sektörünün her aşamasında daha çok yer bulacağını ve giderek daha önemli olacağını net bir biçimde ortaya koymaktadır. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmanın amacı, pandemi sebebiyle Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi Yabancı Diller Yüksekokulu Almanca, Arapça, Fransızca ve İngilizce hazırlık sınıflarında bir yıl uzaktan eğitim ile yabancı dil eğitimi alan öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitime yönelik geliştirdikleri tutumları incelemek ve elde edilen deneyimlerden yola çıkarak uzaktan yabancı dil eğitimi ortamlarının bütüncül bir bakış açışı ile geliştirilmesine ve doğru uzaktan öğretim yaklaşımının belirlenmesine katkı sağlayacak önerilerde bulunmaktır. Örneklem grubunu 321 öğrencinin oluşturduğu bu betimsel ilişkisel tarama modeli çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilen nitel çalışmada Kışla (2016) tarafından geliştirilen ““Uzaktan Eğitime Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Küresel salgın sebebiyle çevrimiçi olarak gerçekleştirilen veri toplama aşamasından elde edilen verilerin çözümleme aşamasında öğrencilerin tutumlarının yaş, cinsiyet ve bölüm değişkeni ile uzaktan eğitime katıldıkları araçlara göre farklılık gösterip gösterilmediği analiz edilmiştir. Değişkenler ve tutum arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılan çalışmada, örneklem grubunun uzaktan eğitime yönelik tutumlarının düşük düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Başka çalışmalar ile örtüşen bu sonuç, muhtemel sebepleri ile tartışma bölümünde ele alınmış ve bu süreçte elde edilen deneyimler neticesinde öğrencilerin tutumlarını olumlu yönde değiştirebilecek öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
While digitalization started to make itself emergent as e-learning and distance education applications in the field of education, as in all areas of social life, face-to-face education was interrupted abruptly due to the Covid-19 pandemic and education services were largely carried out by distance education at all levels. This process, which has been challenging in many respects, clearly reveals that distance education applications will find more place in every stage of the education sector from now on and will become more and more important. In this context, the aim of this study is to examine the attitudes of the students who received foreign language education with distance education for one year in the German, Arabic, French and English preparatory classes of Bursa Uludağ University School of Foreign Languages due to the pandemic and to examine the attitudes of the students towards distance education and to determine the distance foreign language education environments based on the experiences obtained. The study also aims to make suggestions that will contribute to the development with a holistic perspective and the determination of the right distance education approach. The "Attitude Scale Towards Distance Education" developed by Kışla (2016) was used in the qualitative study conducted within the framework of this descriptive relational survey model, the sample group of which consisted of 321 students. During the analysis of the data obtained from the online data collection stage due to the global epidemic, it was analysed whether the attitudes of the students differ according to the age, gender and department variables and the tools they participated in distance education. The findings revealed no significant difference between the variables and the attitude; however, it was observed that the attitudes of the sample group towards distance education were at a low level. The findings of the study overlap with other studies, and the possible underlying reasons are discussed in the discussion section, and as a result of the experiences gained in this process, suggestions that might positively change the attitudes of the students have been developed.
