Bu çalışma ile eğitim yönetimi alanında lisansüstü bir programa kayıtlı ve aktif bir şekilde eğitimlerine devam eden okul yöneticilerinin, yönetimin en önemli süreçlerinden biri olarak değerlendirilen karar alma süreci ile ilgili algılarının analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni; veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Çalışma Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Eğitim Yönetimi Tezsiz Yüksek Lisans Programına kayıtlı 68 okul yöneticisi ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda karar alma süreci ile ilgili 6 ana tema geliştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda katılımcıların karar alma sürecinde daha çok otoriter olarak değerlendirebilecek anlayışlara sahip olduğu görülmüş ve karar alma sürecine yoğunluklu olarak sorun çözme perspektifi ile yaklaşıldığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca karar alma sürecinde katılımcıların muhafazakâr ve milliyetçi reflekslere daha çok vurgu yaptıkları, sınırlı bir karara katılım algısı içinde oldukları tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract:

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of school managers who are registered in a graduate program in the field of education management and who are actively continuing their training regarding the decision-making process, which is considered one of the most important processes in management. In the research, the status study pattern from the quality research methods; the semi-configured conversation form used as a data collection tool and the data obtained was subject to content analysis. The study was carried out with 68 school managers registered in the Education Management Graduate Program of the Fırat University Institute of Education Sciences. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the research, 6 main topics related to the decision-making process have been developed. The research has found that participants have understanding that they can be more authoritarian in the decision-making process and that the decision-making process has been approached intensely with a problem-solving perspective. It has also been found that in the decision-making process participants more emphasized the conservative and nationalist reflections, they are in a limited decision-making participation perception.

This study aimed to analyze the perceptions of school administrators who are graduate students in the Department of Educational Administration, about the decision-making process which is considered one of the most important elements of management. Qualitative case study as a method, semi-structured interview forms for data-collection were used, and content analysis was applied to the collected data. The study was implemented with 68 school administrators who are graduate students at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Educational Administration Graduate Programme without thesis. Six main themes were developed as a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the research. As a result of the research, the participants had attitudes which can be considered as authoritarian mostly, during the process of decision making. And it was determined that they approached with problem-solving to the decision-making process. In addition, the participants' emphasis on conservative and nationalist reflexes were identified beside the limited perception of decision.
