Orta Çoruh Havzası’nın önemli yerleşimlerinden biri olan İspir bölgesi, bulunduğu coğrafi konum nedeniyle doğu-batı ve kuzey-güney arasında önemli kavşak noktalarından biri olarak tarih boyunca çok sayıda toplum ve devlet için cazip bir yerleşim merkezi olmuştur. Bölgede bu medeniyetlerin izlerini taşıyan çok sayıda kale ve kilise yanında cami, mescit ve han gibi çok sayıda tarihi yapı bulunmaktadır. İspir Kadıoğlu Medresesi, Kale Camisi ve kilise kalıntısının yer aldığı İspir Kalesi ve Tuğrul Şah Camisi dışında merkezdeki en önemli anıtsal yapıdır. 18. yy’lın ilk yarısında inşa edilen Kadıoğlu Medresesi dikdörtgen açık avlu çevresinde sıralanan öğrenci hücrelerinden oluşmaktadır. Yakın çevresinde boş ve harap durumda Melik Halil Gazi Mescidi ve tarihi kaynaklarda adı geçen Melik Halil Zaviyesi olması muhtemel bir yapı kalıntısı bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, geç dönem Osmanlı yapısı olan İspir Kadıoğlu Medresesi mimari özellikleri Osmanlı medrese tipolojileri bağlamında derinlemesine incelenerek merkezi pratiklerle uyumlu ve sıradışı özellikleri ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca Osmanlı dönemi öncesinde inşa edilen yakın çevresindeki Melik Halil Gazi Mescidi ve Melik Halil Zaviyesi ile ilişkisi üzerine gözlemler ve değerlendirmeler aktarılmıştır.
The Ispir region, one of the important settlements of the Central Choruh Bay, has been an attractive settlement center for many communities and states throughout the history as one of the important crossroads between east-west and north-south due to its geographical location. In the area there are many castles and churches that carry the traces of these civilizations, along with many historic buildings such as mosques, mosques and hamas. Ispir Kadıoğlu Medresesi is the most important monumental structure in the center, except Ispir Castle and Tuğrul Shah Mosque, where the castle mosque and church remains. The first half of the 18th century was built by the Kadıoğlu Medresesi, which consists of student cells ranged around the open yard. Nearby there is an empty and destroyed state of the Melik Halil Gazi Mosque and a possible structure remains that are called Melik Halil Zaviyesi in historical sources. In this study, the architectural characteristics of the late Ottoman structure of the Ispir Kadıoğlu Medresesi were thoroughly studied in the context of Ottoman medrese typologies and tried to reveal the characteristics compatible and unusual with central practices. Also observations and evaluations on the relationship with Melik Halil Gazi Mosque and Melik Halil Zaviyesi nearby built before the Ottoman era have been transmitted.
İspir region, which is one of the substantial settlements of the Middle Coruh Basin, has been an attractive settlement centre for many societies and states throughout history as one of the critical crossroads between east and west, north and south due to its location. Besides the many castles and churches bearing the traces of these civilizations in the region, there are many historical buildings such as mosques, masjids and inns. İspir Kadıoğlu Madrasa is one the most important monumental building in the centre besides İspir Castle, where the Kale Mosque and the church ruins are located, and Tuğrul Şah Mosque. Kadıoğlu Madrasah, built in the first half of the 18th century, consists of student cells lined around a rectangular open courtyard. There is an empty and ruined Melik Halil Gazi Masjid in its immediate vicinity and a building ruin likely to be Melik Halil Zaviye mentioned in historical sources. This study examines the architectural features of İspir Kadıoğlu Madrasah, a structure in the late Ottoman period, and analyses in depth the typologies and features compatible and unusual with central practices within the context of Ottoman madrasah. Furthermore, the study presents the observations and evaluations about its relationship with Melik Halil Gazi Masjid and Melik Halil Zaviye, built before the Ottoman period.
