Risk factors for the development of eating disorders: study in a population of Mineiros-GO

Eating Disorder (ED) is a deviation in eating behavior, due to a psychological disorder in relation to food and weight, causing damage to the physical and mental health of the individual. Currently, eating disorders called anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and restrictive/avoidance eating disorder are recognized. standard of social beauty, influence of social networks, among others. The aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence and main factors in the development of eating disorders in patients treated at a nutrition office in Mineiros-GO. A Data Collection Form and the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26) were used as tools for the development of the work, which were applied to 60 patients, and the data were subsequently treated with the SPSS 25 software. , it was found that 25 (41.7%) of respondents have concerns about diet; having a correlation with AT since it demonstrates a pathological refusal of high-calorie foods and an intense body concern, and also, that there is a greater correlation between the increased use of the social network with the subscale bulimia and food preoccupation. Analyzing the results, it was possible to associate that social networks exert a great influence on individuals. Finally, it was concluded that it is important to have a qualified nutritional follow-up to properly treat individuals subject to ED, as well as the support of a multidisciplinary team, family and friends.
