Abstract:

The sufi Hacı Bayrâm-ı Veli, who founded the Bayrâmiyye order in the XVth century, was born in Ankara.  Bayrâmiyye sheikh, who started to work as a professor after studying science for a long time, became  affiliated with Somuncu Baba. Hacı Bayrâm-ı Velî died in Ankara and he was buried next to the mosque  built in his name after his death. He was an important figure in the history of Anatolian Sufism. Thus  the place where the sheikh was buried, , has become an important religious center. Some of the waqfs  established after his death are still existing. The fact that Hacı Bayrâm-ı Velî was a commoner and his  followers were exempt from taxes enabled the sect to spread more. This has also led to the further  development and an increase in the number of waqf buildings. In this study, the waqfs of the Hacı  Bayrâm-ı Velî family, their management and economic structure are examined by using the court  registers. The study aims to gain more concrete information from the court registers about the family  and the waqf of Hacı Bayrâm-ı Velî, which has not been adequately addressed until now.
