Abstract:

Today, with globalization, the prosperity level of individuals and societies has been tried to be measured by taking into account social indicators along with economic indicators. In this study, it is aimed to determine global prosperity with Multi-Criteria Decision Making methods by making use of the data and indicators of the Legatum Prosperity Index, which examines socio-economic indicators together. In the study, CRITIC and Entropy methods were used to determine the importance weights of the indicators. According to the results of CRITIC, Personal Freedom affects prosperity the most, while Governance affects it least. According to Entropy, “Management” is the indicator that affects welfare the most and “Natural Environment” that affects the least. The ELECTRE III method has been used to determine the prosperity levels of the countries, and the country with the best prosperity level is Denmark, while the worst is South Sudan.
