The aim of this research is to produce solutions practicable to the field regarding the problems experienced by high school students in learning spelling rules and punctuation marks. For this purpose, phenomenology design, based on qualitative research approach, was used in this study. The research group consists of 10 students and 6 Turkish and/or Turkish Language and Literature teachers whom determined by the “easily accessible or convenient sampling” method. For data collection tool for research, semi-structured and structured interview forms were created. These interview forms were designed as open-ended. According to the findings obtained with the analysis of the data, teachers, to increase their skills, should get support from the books, internet, experts in the field, dictionaries and spelling books, do reading exercises and identify the mistakes that are frequently encountered in the daily life. In the teaching of subjects, there is a need for, question-answers activities, appropriate tests for the subjects, making the lessons fun, visual presentations and animations, text studies, and making the students intuit the subjects. Society should be informed about the issues, various publications should be made and courses should be opened. Necessary controls should be made on social media and television broadcasts, and criminal proceedings should be implemented and content and editorial arrangements should be made. To encourage students, there should be plenty of examples and question solving, homework, various activities, enjoyable and instructive activities, and national consciousness should be formed in the students. As for before high school, for the students, gaining the habit of reading, diversifying the teaching techniques in the lessons, and teaching with games will be useful
