Türk siyasal geleneğinde partiler arasındaki cepheleşmeler 1950’li yıllarda da devam etmiştir. Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi öncülüğünde iktidara karşı muhalefet partileri arasında iş birliği yapmak suretiyle başlayan süreç Başbakan Adnan Menderes’in Vatan Cephesi’nin teşekkül edileceğine dair açıklamasıyla devam etmiştir. Adnan Menderes’in konuşmasından sonra Muş Demokrat Parti İl teşkilatları da kendi saflarına katılımları sağlamak amacıyla çalışmalar yapmışlardır. Bu çalışmalar neticesinde Muş’ta da Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi ve diğer partilere üye olan vatandaşlar Vatan Cephesi’ne katıldıklarını Başbakan Adnan Menderes’e ve Demokrat Parti Genel Merkezi’ne bildirmişlerdir. Partiler arasındaki bu seçmen kaymalarının Muş İline yansımaları da ildeki siyasi dengelerin değişmesine ve politik mücadelenin daha da artmasına yol açmıştır. Bu çalışma 1958-1960 döneminde Vatan Cephesi’nin Muş İlinin politik atmosferini nasıl ve ne şekilde etkilediğini ele alıp incelemiştir.
In the Turkish political tradition, the fronts between the parties continued in the 1950s. The process, which began with the cooperation between the opposition parties under the leadership of the Republican People's Party against power, continued with the announcement of Prime Minister Adnan Menderes that the Vatan Front will be established. After the speech of Adnan Menderes, the Muş Democratic Party provincial agencies also worked to ensure their own lines of participation. The confrontations between the parties in the Turkish political tradition continued in the 1950s as well. The process, which started with the efforts for coperation by the opposition parties against the government under the leadership of the Republican People’s Party, continued with the statement of Prime Minister Adnan Menderes that a Fatherland Front would be formed. After the speech of Adnan Menderes, the Muş Democrat Party provincial organizations also worked to ensure peoples’ participation into their sides. As a result of these efforts, many people which were members of the Republican People’s Party and other opposition parties in Muş, informed the Prime Minister Adnan Menderes and the Democrat Party Headquarters individually or collectively that they joined the Democrat Party and Fatherland Front. The reflections of these electoral shifts between the parties in the province of Muş led to the change of the political balances in the province and the increase of the political struggle between the parties. This study handled and examined how and in what way the Fatherland Front affected the political athmosphere of the Muş province during the 1958-1960 period.
