Amaç: Bu araştırma beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmen adayları ile sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırmaya 390 üniversite öğrencisi (beden eğitimi ve spor bölümü=219, sınıf eğitimi bölümü=171) katılmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek için veri toplama aracı olarak Kahramanoğlu, Yokuş, Cücük, Vural ve Şiraz (2018) tarafından geliştirilen Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (ÖMYTÖ) kullanılmıştır. 5’li likert tipinde, 12 madde ve tek alt boyuttan oluşan ÖMYTÖ’nün araştırmadan elde edilen Cronbach Alfa güvenirliği 0,94 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Verilerin normallik dağılımları incelenmiş ve verilerin normal dağılım gösterdiği belirlenmiş ve verilerin analizinde bağımsız gruplar T-Testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi (One-Way ANOVA) uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Anlamlılık düzeyinin 0,05 olarak kabul edildiği araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarında cinsiyet, öğrenim görülen bölüm, bölümü tercih etme nedeni, mesleğe ilişkin yeterlilik algıları, öğrenim görülen sınıf düzeyi, öğretmenlik mesleğini tercih etme nedeni ve genel ağırlıklı not ortalaması anlamlı farklılığa neden olurken, öğrenim görülen üniversite ve ailede öğretmen olma değişkenleri anlamlı farklılığa neden olmamaktadır. Sonuç: Beden eğitimi spor öğretmen adaylarının sınıf öğretmeni adaylarına göre öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik daha olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları söylenebilir.
Purpose: This research was conducted to examine the attitudes of physical education and sports teacher candidates and primary school teacher candidates towards the teaching profession. Method: A total of 390 university students participated in the research (physical education and sports department=219, primary school education department=171). In this study using the descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, “The Attitude Towards Teaching Profession Scale” (TATTPS) developed by Kahramanoğlu, Yokuş, Cücük, Vural, and Şiraz (2018) was used as a data collection tool to determine the attitudes of teacher candidates towards the teaching profession. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability of the ÖMYTÖ consisting of 12 items and a single sub-dimension on the 5-point Likert-type scale, was calculated as 0.94. The normality distribution of the data was examined and it was determined that the data showed normal distribution. The independent groups T-Test and one-way analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA) were applied in the analysis of the data. Results: According to the results obtained from the study, in which the significance level was accepted as 0.05, while gender, the department studied, reason for choosing the department, the perceptions of proficiency related to the profession, the grade level studied, reason for choosing the teaching profession, and general weighted grade point average make a significant difference, the variables of the university studied and having a teacher relative do not cause a significant difference regarding the attitudes of teacher candidates towards the teaching profession. Conclusion: As a result, it can be said that physical education and sports teacher candidates have more positive attitudes towards the teaching profession than primary school teacher candidates.
