Abstract:

This study has studied the effects of the application of micro-credit in the fight against poverty in the province of Shanlıurfa on women’s social lives. For this purpose, the cooperation with the Sanlıurfa Microfinance branch resulted in discussions with 145 participants using micro-credit and the survey application was carried out. In the discussions held in the province of Sanlıurfa, the social-demographic profiles of women using micro-credit, what kind of micro-credit they use in the business arms, what kind of changes they experience in the social life of women. The research finds that micro-credit users in the province of Sanlıurfa are satisfied with the application of micro-credit, and that micro-credit contributes significantly and positively to their social life, not only from an economic point of view. TGMP has been shown to contribute to the reduction of poverty and the increase in employment, while it has also been shown to contribute to the active participation of women in social life.
