Abstract:

Family medicine plays an important role in raising the health status of the society. With family medicine, which started to be implemented all over Turkey in 2011, accessibility to preventive health services is aimed. This study was evaluated the effect of the family medicine performance system at the statistical region level. For this purpose, data envelopment analysis was applied to one input and six output variables related to family health services of statistical regional. Model was used which is developed by Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes. Analyzes were made with the EMS package program. Data used in the study covering the years 2011-2019 accessed from the Health Statistical Yearbooks. It has been determined that the status of being effective or ineffective varies according to the region and years. There was inefficiency in both scale types, fixed and variable in 2018. Between 2011-2019, it was determined that the Middle Anatolia region was effective and the Southeastern Anatolia region was ineffective. There is a need for improvements that will ensure the efficiency of the family medicine system and the effective use of resources at a level that will reduce regional differences.
