Abstract:

With this research, the opinions of high school students about distance education are been tried to present. The research is carried out with the mixed method in which qualitative and quantitative research methods are used together. The study group of the study consists of 402 high school students receiving distance education in different cities / districts. The data are collected using the "High School Students Distance Education Perceptions Scale" developed by the researchers. As a result of the study, regarding the distance education perceptions of high school students, it has been identified that; private school students have more positive perceptions than those who attend public schools, high school seniors' perceptions are more positive than other classes, distance education perception becomes more positive as their participation status becomes more diverse, there is an inverse proportion between the increase in problems with accessing the EBA training portal and the perception of distance education, the distance education perception scores of the students increase as the distance education provision of schools increases. More than half of the students stated that they listen teachers with close attention.Students generally prefer face-to-face training. Teaching the lessons as live as possible positively affects the attitudes of the students towards distance education. It is thought that students studying distance education lessons with their own teachers as much as possible will positively affect their attitudes towards distance education. It is thought that the distance education activities provided to students should be diversified as much as possible, student-centered and rich course content in distance education should be provided, and the communication between student-student and student-teacher should be enhanced.
