The work, whose preface is understood to have been written in 2002, was translated into Turkish and published twenty years later. Hämeen-Anttila, who is a Finnish academic and mostly interested in classical Arabic and Persian literature, still continues his research in the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at Edinburgh University. One of the purposes of writing this work, which started to take shape in the Islamic mysticism classes given by the author at the University of Helsinki, is to be used as a textbook in universities. This is exactly what motivated us to write a review on this book. Can a book written in Finland with the aim of being used as a textbook be used as a textbook in faculties of theology in Turkey? Or in what ways and how much can academics and students in our country benefit from this book?In this article, which was written with the aim of seeking answers to these questions, the strengths and weaknesses of the book will be pointed out.
