ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ SOSYAL MEDYA GRUPLARINI KULLANMA DURUMLARINA GÖRE ÇOK KÜLTÜRLÜ EĞİTİME İLİŞKİN ALGILARI

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı eğitim fakültesi lisans programlarının son sınıflarında öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının sosyal medya gruplarını kullanma durumlarına göre çok kültürlü eğitime ilişkin algılarını değerlendirmektir. Bu amaca uygun olarak araştırmada nedensel karşılaştırma deseninden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma küme örnekleme yöntemiyle, 2016-2017 öğretim yılının güz döneminde Türkiye’nin her coğrafi bölgesinden seçilen 10 devlet üniversitesinin eğitim fakültelerinin son sınıflarında öğrenim gören 2152 öğretmen adayı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan bu araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Sosyal Medya Kullanım Anketi ve Çok Kültürlü Eğitime İlişkin Algı Ölçeği (ÇEİAÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde kestirisel istatistik yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda ulaşılan sonuçlar aşağıdaki gibidir: • Araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarının çok kültürlü eğitimin sonuçlarına ilişkin algılarının en fazla zaman geçirilen sosyal medya grubunun içeriğine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. • Araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarının üniversite eğitiminin çok kültürlü eğitime etkisine ilişkin algılarının sosyal medya sitelerinde üyesi olunan grup/topluluk sayısına, en fazla zaman geçirilen sosyal medya grubunun içeriğine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. • Araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarının eşitlik ve adalet algılarının en fazla zaman geçirilen sosyal medya grubunun içeriğine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir.

Teachers' Candidates' Social Media Groups Use Conditions of Multicultural Education Relationships

Abstract:

The main objective of this research is to evaluate the perceptions of multicultural education according to the circumstances of the use of social media groups by teachers candidates who are studying in the last classes of the educational faculty bachelor's programs. This purpose was appropriately used by the reasonable comparison pattern in the research. The research was carried out with 2152 teachers candidates who studied in the last classes of the educational faculty of 10 state universities selected from each geographical region of Turkey during the best period of the 2016-2017 academic year. In this study, the data collection tool has been used as the Social Media Use Survey and the Multicultural Education Conceptual Measurement (CEO). In the analysis of the data, the statistical method is used. The results of the research are as follows: • It has been determined that the perceptions of the teacher candidates participating in the research regarding the results of multicultural education show a statistically significant difference according to the content of the social media group where they spend the most time. • It has been determined that the perceptions of the pre-service teachers participating in the research regarding the effect of university education on multicultural education show a statistically significant difference according to the number of groups/communities they are a member of on social media sites and the content of the social media group where they spend the most time. • The study found that the equality and justice perceptions of the teachers candidates that participated in the study showed a statistically significant difference according to the content of the social media group spent most time.

The main purpose of this research is to assess the perceptions of the student teachers, currently studying in the final year of BA programs at education faculties, on multicultural education according to their use of social media groups. 2152 senior student teachers of education faculties across 10 state universities from each geographical region of Turkey in the fall term of 2016-2017 academic year participated in the study. The following data collection tools were used in this survey: Social Media Usage Questionnaire, Faculty of Education Undergraduate Students Multiculturalism and Multicultural Education Questionnaire. Inferential statistical approache was used to analyze the data. The results reached as a result of the study are as follows: • The perceptions of the student-teachers that participated in the survey showed a statistically significant difference related to the outcomes of the multicultural education in terms of the content of the social media group that is used most. • The perceptions of the student-teachers that participated in the survey showed a statistically significant difference related to the effect of university education on multicultural education in terms of the number of membership of groups/communities on social media sites and the content of the social media group that are used most. • The perceptions of the student-teachers that participated in the survey showed a statistically significant difference related to the equality and justice in terms of the content of the social media group that is used most.
