Özet:

Abstract This research analyzed the production of dance knowledge in national Physical Education journals. It identified the production of articles on dance by magazine, institution and region of the country and as keywords. The universe and a sample were constituted by national Physical Education journals classified from A2 to B2, which study the socio-cultural area of Physical Education. The evaluation of the data followed a simple quantitative analysis. Eight journals were analyzed and 234 articles were found. The three magazines with the largest number of publications were: Pensar na Prática 61 articles, Revista Movimento 56 articles and Motriz with 30 articles. The University with the largest number of articles published is the Federal University of Santa Catarina and the regions with the highest dance production are the States of Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo. The main themes of the articles are configured in a debate about the body, the school education, the culture, the aesthetics and the art. The data made it possible to conclude an increasing of dance production over the years, although it representation is very small. In addition, it was possible to verify that the biggest concern in the area of Physical Education about dance is relationed to the educationals aspects.
