Bu araştırmada ilköğretim 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal medya uygulamalarında kullandığı kelimeleri tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılında Balıkesir'deki bir devlet okulunda öğrenim gören 102 8. sınıf öğrencisi arasında bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Bu öğrencilerden “Hangi sosyal medya hesaplarını kullanıyorsunuz, Kullandığınız sosyal medya hesaplarında vaktinizi nasıl geçiriyorsunuz, Sosyal medyada neler yapıyorsunuz?” sorularına kompozisyon yazarak bir ders saatinde cevap vermeleri istenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin kullandığı -alıntı- kelimeler tespit edildikten sonra öğrencilere bu kelimeler okutularak öğrencilerin bu kelimeleri Türkçe mi yoksa kaynak dildeki gibi mi okudukları tespit edilmiştir. Sosyal medyada gençlerin kullandığı kelimelerin araştırıldığı bu nitel araştırma, durum çalışması olarak desenlenmiştir. Bu araştırmada öğrencilere yazdırılan kompozisyonlar, içerik analizi tekniği ile çözümlenmiş ve öğrencilerin sosyal medya kanallarında kullandığı kelimeler tespit edilmiş ve bu kelimeler şekil bilgisi açısından bir sınıflandırmaya tabi tutulmuştur. Bu araştırma sonucunda 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin internet ve sosyal medya uygulamalarında 155 kelime kullandığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu kelimelerin bir kısmının alıntı, bir kısmının Türkçe, bir kısmının ise Türkçeleşmiş alıntı kelime olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin alıntı kelimelerin tamamını İngilizcedeki sesletim özellikleriyle telaffuz ettikleri, 26 alıntı kelimeyi basit isim olarak kullandıkları, 12 alıntı kelimeye Türkçe yapım ekleri ekleyerek onlardan 1 yeni isim, 11 yeni fiil türettikleri, 38 alıntı isme Türkçe fiil ekleyerek birleşik fiiller meydana getirdikleri, 4 kelimede ise bir alıntı kelimeyle bir Türkçe ismi bir araya getirerek birleşik isim oluşturdukları, dilimizde hâlihazırda kullanılmakta olan toplam 75 kelimeye ise TDK Güncel Türkçe Sözlükteki anlamlarının dışında yeni anlamlar kazandırdıkları tespit edilmiştir. 11 birleşik fiilde de at- fiilinin asıl fiil özelliğinden uzaklaşarak yardımcı fiil işleviyle kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir.
This study aims to identify the words that primary school 8th grade students use in social media applications. For this, a study was conducted among 102 8th-class students who studied in a public school in Fiskesir in the 2019-2020 educational year. From these students, "What social media accounts do you use, how do you spend your time on the social media accounts you use, what do you do on the social media?" They were asked to answer their questions by writing a composition in a class hour. Also, after the words used by the students were identified, the students read these words to the students and the students read these words as in the Turkish or source language. This quality research, in which the words that young people use in social media are studied, is designed as a situation study. In this study, the compositions printed to students were analyzed by content analysis technique and the words used by students on social media channels were identified and these words were classified in terms of form knowledge. The study found that 8th grade students used 155 words in the internet and social media applications. Some of these words are quoted, some are Turkish, and some are Turkish. Students have spoken all the quote words with the vocational characteristics in English, they have used 26 quote words as a simple name, they have added 1 new name to 12 quote words, they have generated 11 new real, they have created united realities by adding 38 quote names to Turkish real, in 4 words they have created united names by combining a Turkish name with a quote word, the total of 75 words that are already used in our language, and they have gained new meanings outside the meaning of the TDK Current Turkish Dictionary. In the 11 combined facts, it is also found that the at-facts are used with the help of the actual function by removing the original real feature.
This qualitative case study aimed to discover the words that 8th graders use in social media. Therefore, in the 2019-2020 academic year, research was conducted among 102 participants studying at a public school in Balıkesir. Participants were requested to write an essay in class about the platforms they use, the way they spend their time, and their regular activity. During analysis, additional findings about the words participants were using is also discovered whether they pronounce them in Turkish or their native language. The research data were analyzed with content analysis technique, and the identified words are classified in accordance with morphology. In conclusion, it was discovered that 8th graders use 155 words in web and social media, which also encapsulates some quotes, Turkish and Turkish phrases. Students pronounced all the quoted words with their pronunciation features in English, used 26 excerpted words as simple nouns, added one new noun and 11 new verbs from them by adding Turkish construction suffixes to 12 excerpted words, they formed compound verbs by adding Turkish verbs to 38 excerpted nouns, and one in 4 words. It was discovered that they created a unified name by combining a Turkish name with a quote word, which gave new meanings to 75 words that are different to their counterparts in TDK dictionary. Additionally, in 11 compound verbs, the verb at- moves away from the original verb feature and is used with auxiliary verb function.
