Background: The aim of the study was to determine the status of admission status of Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers and their family (MSF)to emergency service of Eskisehir Alpu Hospital in April to October 2012and to compare their admission status with admission status of indigenous people at the same period. Material and Methods: For study 13 hospital record books of April to October 2012 were examined in detail. The indigenous people's admissions were chosen by systematic sampling for each month as same as the number of MSF' admissions. Admission information of the study group (date of birth, gender, application date, diagnosis and treatment received) was recorded. The Chi-square analysis was used to evaluate the data. Results: Totally 4570 admission records (2285 admissions of MSF&2285 admissions of control group) were examined. The number of admissions of MSF to the emergency service were more in the following age groups 0-4, 5-14, 15-29 (p<0.001). However, the number of admission of indigenous people to the emergency service were more in the following age groups 45-64, 65+(p<0.001), respectively. While the number of emergency service admissions related to respiratory system diseases, the digestive system diseases, the obstetric diseases and the oral and dental diseases were more frequent in the MSF (p<0.001), the number of emergency service admissions related to cardiovascular system diseases, musculoskeletal injuries, zoonotic diseases and traumatic injuries were more frequent in the indigenous people(p<0.001). Conclusion: The MSF has different health problems from the general population because of living in rural, working in hard conditions, the lack of infrastructure and accommodation. Our findings are supporting to the general assumptions. Further researches are needed to understand and solve MSF' health problems.
