Abstract:

The clothing industry has an important role in our country’s economy. In the framework of the protection and development of this sector, it is important to implement the measures specified in the law in order to ensure the safety of employees. Workers in this sector are faced with many health problems. Research and Development (AR-GE) studies on humanization and safety of the work environment in developed countries are conducted periodically. This study has been aimed at identifying the state of implementation of the measures taken in ready-made clothing enterprises in the field of labor health and safety. Parallel to the technological developments in the ready-made clothing industry, a number of common issues related to the safety of workers in the workplace have been presented. Workers with advanced technology are faced with new risks and dangers. These problems, which were not very important at the beginning, threatened the production in the enterprises and led to the adoption of health and safety measures as a result of affecting the work performance. The importance of the matter is increasing by day to day, with the work accidents and the material and spiritual losses reach large dimensions. In this context, the goal is to protect employees from dangers as well as to ensure that they work for a long time in a better business environment. Occupational health and safety includes work to protect against the dangers of work and conditions that may be harmful to the health. In a safe and healthy environment, the motivation of employees increases and the work output is positively affected (Durdu, 2006).
