This study was aimed at identifying the dental and periodontal conditions of children’s patients and oral care habits, assessing the factors of the child and their parents that may affect them, and investigating the possible relationship between them. Method and Requirements: 150 children formed in accordance with the criteria for inclusion of the work population. It was divided into groups that were healthy (n=70) and gingivitis (n=80) according to periodontal conditions. Demographic data, nutrition and oral care habits, education levels of parents were recorded in the survey form. DMF-T/DMF-S were measured in permanent teeth, df-t/df-s in dairy teeth, plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI) and community periodontal index (CPI) were measured in permanent teeth. The study included 150 children between the ages of 8 and 14 (women/male = 83/67) in the study. According to their gender, the number of daily meals in men compared to girls (p<0,05), compared to eating and washing habits, found no difference between these two groups in terms of clinical parameters (p>0,05). In their periodontal conditions, 56.3 percent of girls and 43.8 percent of men were diagnosed with gingivitis. It was found that eating habits were similar in gingivitis and healthy groups (p>0,05), that gingivitis was low in time of washing (p<0,05), that PI, GI and CPI values were higher compared to health (p<0,01), and that there was no difference in dental parameters (p>0,05). There was no difference in periodontal and dental parameters according to children’s eating and washing habits (p>0,05). When the periodontal parameters are differentiated according to the frequency of spraying (p<0,01), the dental parameters are not differentiated (p>0,05). RELATED AND RESULTATED: In children in which the study was carried out, their dietary habits were rich in carbohydrates, the number of meals was high, and they remained insufficient to meet their oral hygiene requirements. Within the limits of the study, our findings emphasize the importance of the oral care habit in the prevention of periodontal disease that this eating habit is not sufficient in its own forming.
