Abstract:

In this study it is aimed to determine the optimal sample tree selection methods based on the success of the selection method and the processing time factors for the arrangement of the diameter-height equations within the scope of the plan unit. For this study, from the even-aged and pure red pine stands 1408 sampling trees were measured in the 47 sample areas. The selection of sample trees was designed by 54 different methods. The each selection method was evaluated with regression analysis, success criteria sets and relative scoring methods and ranked according to their scores. The processing times of the selection methods in the sample areas were calculated with the shortest path optimizations and regression analysis methods. The Pareto optimal method was used to determine the selection methods that gave the most successful results and at the same time have the shortest processing time. As a result, it was determined that method number 16 was the most successful method in scoring among the selection methods, while method number 1 was the shortest according to the processing time. When these two factors were both considered the 07, 14, 15, 16, 51, 08, 43 and 49 numbered selection methods constitute the optimal solution set. It has been determined that the nearest solution to the ideal point is the method number 14, which works with the Weise middle tree and the two trees closest to it.
