Abstract:

It is known that each type of literature has its own determining elements. In addition to the elements such as the time space or the style, as well as the functions of the literary production, there are also people who have served and had the opportunity to new formations. The people mentioned have sometimes determined the difference between tragedy and comedy in the theatre, and sometimes the focus has been the determining measure of the characters that are heroes. Although some of these works from different periods are adapted to the cinema, they are not considered as a genre only under literary adaptation. When determining the types of films, the structure, the subject, and even the technical characteristics are taken into account. The aim of this study is to provide information on the determining functions that individuals take over from a literary point of view, to demonstrate the development of these functions in the literary styles in German literature and to demonstrate their use as a theme or motivation. It will also be discussed the location of the types and works to be sample in the cinema, the characteristics of the adaptations and which films in the cinema can be assessed under.
