Abstract:

The increasing world population has led to the necessity of more efficient use of natural resources, primarily land, which are not renewable. Land use decisions are initially taken in accordance with the short-term requirements of land owners, while today the decision on land use requires land use plans to be made and implemented in such a way that land use decisions can be taken in order to prevent permanent damage to natural resources. The primary goal of all types of land use planning is to ensure sustainable use of agricultural land by protecting for future generations. Therefore, specifically agricultural land use plans are carried out on the basis of the basic land study and maping work in which land characteristics, distribution and potential are determined. To ensure that planning decisions can be taken in a healthy manner, ground study and maping work is needed with sufficient accuracy and detailed information. Based on detailed land maps, land evaluation work results in the determination of the suitableness of the land for alternative uses and the selection of those that are compatible with planning purposes and suitable for sustainable use from appropriate uses. This research was carried out in Ankara or Kalecik district with the aim of creating a sub-structure for the creation of the land and maps of the up-to-date territories of Turkey. The land profile points have been determined using satellite images, numerical height models, topographic maps and geological maps. A draft land map was created by identifying the opened profiles, then the series limits were determined with land observations and samples. In the second phase, the soil use species, the soil requirements of these species were determined and matched with the characteristics of the soil series, and the agricultural soil use plan was created according to the soil characteristics.
