Özet:

The aim of the study is to determine for what purpose primary school students use the internet from the teachers' point of view, their internet usage skills for the Social Studies course, and the teachers' views on the internet use in the Social Studies course. Considering this situation, quantitative method was used. 83 teachers from Erzurum districts constitute the quantitative sample of the study. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H test were performed on the obtained data. Looking at the results of the research; teachers stated that students could access materials such as pictures, photographs and graphics on the internet, save their research, access ready-made slides on the subject of the lesson, conduct research on the internet, communicate via social networking sites and prepare homework on the internet. In the opinions of teachers regarding internet use in the Social Studies course, it was emphasized that the courses should definitely be supported by the internet, and the teachers stated that they gave their students research homework, asked which websites they did homework, and informed their students about internet use
