The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of life of people with disabilities who are considered active and insufficiently active. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted with 114 physically disabled people from Manaus, in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire - IPAQ. long version was used for measuring physical activity level, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-Bref questionnaire was used for measuring quality of life. The statistical analyses included descriptive analyses of measurement of central tendency (mean), measurement of position (minimum and maximum value), and correlation (Spearman). The data analysis was undertaken using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The results showed a predominance of the male gender, aged between 31 and 45 years old, with high school. Of the 114 interviewees, most were considered insufficiently active (53.5%), and their average physical activity expenditure in minutes per week was 79.54, while those considered active (46.5%) were 582.38 minutes per week. The quality of life of people with active physical disabilities had better scores when compared to those who were insufficiently active. There was also a significant and positive association in individuals with physical disabilities between the domains of physical activity and quality of life. It is concluded that a more active lifestyle may favor a better quality of life for people with physical disabilities. Therefore, it is essential to offer accessible spaces for leisure activities for this population.
