To analyze the knowledge on basic nutrition and sports nutrition of Brazilian bodybuilders in sports academies. This is a cross-sectional study developed digitally in adults aged 20 to 50 years who practice weight training in sports gyms. To carry out the research, a questionnaire was applied with questions about basic nutrition (food sources and nutrients) and sports nutrition (nutrition and physical activity and supplementation). The characterization of the sample was performed by building frequency tables for categorical variables. For continuous variables, means and standard deviations were obtained. The results showed that most of the participants were women, the percentage of correct answers in the test was (61%). In the section on nutrition and physical activity, bodybuilders who obtained information about nutrition from the nutritional professional answered more questions than those who had other sources of information. It was concluded that most of the participants had satisfactory knowledge about basic and sports nutrition, reinforcing the high level of information of this public about the role of food and nutrition in the results of strength training. bodybuilders who obtained information about nutrition from the nutritional professional answered more questions than those who had other sources of information.
