Abstract:

Almost every subject involving Prophet (pbuh) has been dealt and treated with respect and delicacy. The arts such as calligraphy, illumination, miniature, marbling, architecture, literature and music show themselves in the works involving the Prophet who has been sent to the worlds as a mercy. Mevlid form is one of the largest art works depicting the Prophet in the Islamic literature and music. Many of the works that started from the birth of the Prophet till his death were written upon inspiration from the Kasîdetü’l-Bürde by Ka’b bin Zübeyr and the Kasîdetü’l-Bürde by Imam Bûsîrî. Vâkıdî’s Mevlidü'l-Vâkıdî maa'ş-şerh ale't-temâm in Arabic literature, Andalusian hadith narrator and historian Ibn Dihye al-Kelbî's et-Tenvîr fî mevlidi's-sirâci'l-münîr, Ebü'l-Ferec Ibn al-Jawzi’s Mevlidü'n-nebi, Muhyiddin Ibn al-Arabi’s Menkabetu Mevlidi'n-nebî are the most renowned ones among all. In Turkish literature, around 200 Mevlid were written and the Great Mosque imam preacher Süleyman Çelebi's Vesîletü’n-necât is the most famous one which has been recited for the last 6 centuries. In terms of religious music, Mevlid is a comprehensive form of religious music organised particularly for the birthday of the Prophet, on the blessed days and nights, for commemoration of important personalities, birth, circumcision, military service, marriage, performing hajj worship, death and other reasons to share the joy and grievances of the people. Mevlid is performed by four groups known as aşırhan, tevşihhan, mevlidhan and duahan. Each section of the Mevlid is called bahir and consists of 6 bahirs (tawhid (omnipotence), nûr (light), worship, merhaba (greeting), veladet (birth) and death). In this study, following the determination of methodology and methodology, the definition of Mevlid form, its sections and the subject of the study and the life of the most powerful voice artist Bekir Sıtkı Sezgin are told. Then, the notation of the bahir and a theoretical analysis of Suleyman Çelebi’s mevlid ‘veladet(birth)’ recited by Bekir Sıtkı Sezgin's on 22 October 1973 (25 Ramadan 1393) in Izmir Hisar Mosque are made.
