Abstract:

Bu araştırma oyun tabanlı öğrenme yaklaşımına dayalı etkinliklerinin, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın deseni olarak ön test-son test kontrol gruplu deneysel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırma için oluşturulan iki grubun öğrenci sayıları 55 olarak belirlenmiştir. Oluşturulan bu gruplardan biri olan deney grubuna eğitsel oyun teknikleri uygulanmıştır. Akademik Başarı Testi ise araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilere bağımlı örneklemler t-testi, bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi ve Shapiro-Wilk normallik testi yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucuna göre deney ve kontrol grupları arasında akademik başarı ön test puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmamıştır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının akademik başarı testi son test puan ortalamaları arasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda, oyun tabanlı öğrenme yaklaşımına dayalı etkinliklerin dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarını olumlu yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract:

This research aims to examine the effect of activities based on game-based learning approach on students' academic achievement. Experimental method with pretest-posttest control group was used as the design of the research. The number of students in the two groups created for the research was determined as 55. Educational game techniques were applied to the experimental group, which is one of these groups. The Academic Achievement Test was used as a data collection tool in the research. Dependent samples t-test, independent samples t-test and Shapiro-Wilk normality test were applied to the obtained data. According to the results of the analysis, there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of academic achievement pre-test score averages. A significant difference was found between the academic achievement test post-test mean scores of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group. As a result of the research, it was determined that activities based on game-based learning approach positively affected the academic achievement of fourth-grade students.
