Klasik Türk şiirinin genel poetikasının sağlıklı ve kapsamlı bir şekilde tespit edilmesi ve değerlendirilmesi gerekmektedir. Ancak böyle bir çalışmanın yapılabilmesi için öncelikle şair düzeyinde ve dönem genelinde bazı çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır. Bu ihtiyaca binaen hazırladığımız çalışmada Keçecizâde İzzet Molla’nın divanından hareketle nasıl bir şiir tanımlaması yaptığı, şiir için kullandığı kelimeler, şiirden ne anladığı, şiirin vasıfları kısaca bireysel poetikası belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.19. asır klasik şiirin usta şairleri arasında kabul edilen Keçecizâde İzzet Molla, son dönemde divan şiiri geleneğini yaşatmaya çalışması ve bu dönemin poetikasını yansıtması bakımdan mühimdir. Son yüzyılda, önceki dönemlere göre farklı bir eğilim oluşmuş, hem kültürel hem de edebi anlamda bir yenileşmenin başladığı bu edebi gelenek içerisinde İzzet Molla’nın duruşu, kendine hastır. Her şairin kendi mizacına, maharetine, çevresine ve tabi olarak dönemine uygun bir şiir anlayışı olmalıdır; düşüncesinden hareketle bu çalışmada şairin Divân-ı Bahar-ı Efkâr’ında şiirle doğrudan veya dolaylı olarak ilgisi bulunan ifadeler belirlenmiştir. Bu ifadeler doğrultusunda şairin hem kendi şiiri hem de genel anlamda şiir bağlamındaki düşünceleri bazı sınıflandırmalar yapılarak verilmiştir.Biz tüm bu yargılara ulaşırken söz konusu divanda çeşitli yerlerde farklı sebeplerle dile getirilen kavram ve ifadeleri kullandık. Elbette ki şairimizin bu söylemleri her zaman “şiir budur” veya “ şiir böyle olmalıdır” şeklinde değildir. Bazen de “benim şiirim böyledir” gibi bir ifadeler kullanan şair bize dolaylı olarak bir genelleme yolunu da işaret etmiş oluyor. Buna benzeyen sayısız örneklemelerden yola çıkarak Keçecizâde İzzet Molla’nın şiir anlayışı konusunda bazı yargılara ulaşabildik.
