Değerler eğitimi çocuğun yaşadığı topluma ait kültürel ve evrensel ögeleri fark etmesi açısından önemlidir. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı bu anlamda 2017 eğitim öğretim programında “Değerler Eğitimi” konusunu gündeme getirmiş ve on kök değeri tespit ederek programda yer vermiştir. On kök değerin fark ettirilmesi açısından çocuk edebiyatı ürünlerinin de önemli olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, çocuk edebiyatı alanında tanınmış olan ve eserleri Türkçeye çevrilen Adam Blade’in “Canavar Peşinde” adlı seri kitaplarından seçilen kitapların on kök değer açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın inceleme nesnesini Adam Blade’in Canavar Peşinde adlı kitaplarından ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiş olan 11 adet çocuk kitabı oluşturmaktadır. Yazarın seçilen çocuk kitapları nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesiyle tetkik edilmiş ve yorumlama yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen on kök değere ait veriler betimsel analizle değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan inceleme sonucunda toplamda 711 adet on kök değer tespit edilmiştir. Bu değerlerin içerisinde en sık kullanılan değerler, özdenetim, yardımseverlik ve sorumluluk değerleri olmuştur.
Values education is important for the child to realize the cultural and universal objects of the society in which he lives. The Ministry of National Education in this sense presented the theme "Values Education" in the 2017 educational program and included the program by identifying ten root values. It is also known that children’s literature products are important to recognize the 10 root values. The purpose of this study is to study the books selected from the series books of Adam Blade, who are well-known in the field of children's literature and their works are translated into Turkish, "In the pursuit of the monster". The subject of the study consists of 11 children's books, selected by measurement sampling method from Adam Blade's books "The Monster's Search". The author's chosen children's books have been reviewed and interpreted by the document review of the quality research methods. The data of the ten root values obtained in the study were evaluated by visual analysis. According to the study, a total of 711 root values have been identified. Among these values the most commonly used values, self-audit, utility and responsibility values were.
