ULUSLARARASI ERASMUS PROGRAMINDA GÖRSEL KÜLTÜR ÖĞRETİMİNE İLİŞKİN DURUM ÇALIŞMASI (UCC ÖRNEĞİ)

Abstract:

Yaşadığımız 21. yüzyıl bilişim çağında iletişim araçları hayatımızın büyük bir bölümünü kapsamaktadır. İletişim araçlarının oluşturduğu imajlar dünyasında bireylerde eleştirel sorgulama, analiz ve çözümlemeye dayalı farkındalıklar oluşturabilmek için görsel kültür eğitiminin sanat eğitimi programlarında yer alması gerekliliği ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırmada UCC (University College Capital) University College erasmus+programında görsel kültür öğretiminin nasıl yapıldığını incelemek ve görsel kültür dersinin içerik, öğretim ve değerlendirilmesinde neler yapıldığını betimlemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması türlerinden tek durum çalışmasıdır. Araştırmanın katılımcısını ölçüt örnekleme ile seçilen, Erasmus öğrenim programı kapsamında Danimarka’da UCC University College’da üç ay süre ile görsel kültür dersini alan öğretmen adayı olan bir Erasmus öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada verileri, katılımcının ders ile ilgili dokümanları, görsel materyalleri, yansıtıcı notları ve yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme verilerinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verileri içerik analizi ile derinlemesine incelenmiş ve üç ana tema altında “Görsel kültür öğretimi ve içeriği”, “Görsel kültür etkinlikleri” ve “Değerlendirme” olarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, katılımcı görsel kültür dersiyle haftalık olarak inceledikleri mekanlarda Danimarka kültürünü deneyimlemiştir. Bu deneyimi sonucunda kültürlerarası etkileşim olanağı bulmuş ve çokkültürlü yaşama ilişkin bakış açısı kazanmıştır. Katılımcının etrafında gördüğü her bir nesne, olay, olgu ve benzeri öğelerden anlam yarattığı görsel kültür dersinde uygulanan yansıtmaların (reflectivity) ve dersin işlenişinin katılımcıya, öğrenme ve öğretme deneyimi sonucunda öğretmenliğe ilişkin deneyimler edindirmiştir.

In the 21st century we live in the computer age, communication means cover a large part of our lives. In the world of images that communications tools create, the need for visual culture education to be included in the art education programs to be able to create awareness based on critical questioning, analysis and analysis in individuals. This study aims to study how visual culture teaching is done in the UCC (University College Capital) University College erasmus+ program and to describe what is done in the content, teaching and evaluation of the visual culture course. Research is the only case study of the type of case study from the quality research methods. The participant of the study is selected by standard sample, the Erasmus study programme constitutes an Erasmus student who is a teacher candidate to take a visual culture course at UCC University College in Denmark for a period of three months. The research data consists of the participant’s course-related documents, visual materials, reflective notes and semi-configured interview data. The research data was thoroughly studied with content analysis and collected under three main topics as "Visual Culture Teaching and Content", "Visual Culture Events" and "Evaluation". As a result of the study, the participants experienced Danish culture in the places they studied weekly with a visual culture course. As a result of this experience, he found the possibility of inter-cultural interaction and gained a view of multicultural life. Each object, event, event, and similar elements which the participant sees around creates meaning; the reflectivity of the visual culture course and the processing of the course has gained the participant experience of teaching as a result of learning and teaching experience.

Given the need for the integration of visual culture education into art education programs and the crucial role played by communication tools in the 21st century, visual culture education needs to raise awareness based on critical inquiry and analysis. This study examines how visual culture education is conducted in the UCC (University College Capital) Erasmus+ program, and describes the activities undertaken in terms of content, instruction and evaluation in the visual culture course. The participant of this qualitative, single case study was an Erasmus student who was a prospective teacher, and who took the visual culture course for three months at UCC in Denmark as part of the Erasmus education program and was selected using a criterion sampling method. The data sources were the participant’s course-related documents, visual materials, reflexive notes and semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed in-depth via content analysis, and classified under three main themes: “Visual culture education and content”, “Visual culture activities” and “Assessment”. At the end of the study, the participant had the opportunity to experience Danish culture in the places that were included in the visual culture course, and thus engage in intercultural interaction and gain a perspective on multicultural life. The participant assigned meanings to each object, event, fact and other items that they observed in their surroundings. The reflectivity used in the visual culture course, and how the course was conducted, provided the participant opportunities to experience the profession of teaching.
