Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the student's classroom leading teaching skills and effective communication skills. The study is based on the associational research model. The universe of the study is formed by students at the University of Kırşehir Ahi Evran and the sample is made up of 172 women, 216 men and 388 students who have studied in different departments of the Faculty of Sports Sciences during the 2021-2022 educational period. As a data collection tool, validity and reliability have been used by Gülbahar and Aksungur 2 (2018) in Class Effective Communication Skills Perception Scale and Gülbahar (2017) in Class Leadership Teaching Skills Perception Scale. Since the data does not show normal distribution, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test, Spearman's rho and visual statistics (%, n, min. by Max. X and SS are used. According to the research findings, the perception scale of the leading teaching skills within the class has not seen any significant differences according to gender and age, while the perception scale of the effective communication skills within the class has seen statistically significant differences according to gender and age. The average number of women was higher than the average number of men and the age range with the highest number of men was 26 years and older. According to the department variable, there was a significant difference between classroom lead teaching skills and classroom effective communication skills. The highest level is sports management. According to the outcome of the correlation between class-in-class leadership teaching and class-in-class effective communication points, there was a meaningful relationship in the positive direction (r=.727, p<.01). As a result, it can be said that if the students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences have increased their classroom lead teaching skills, classroom effective communication will also increase.
