The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that make learning English difficult in secondary and high schools. This study was designed as a case study. The participants consist of 24 English teachers working in Van. In this study, a semi-structured interview form was used. Descriptive and content analysis techniques were used in data analysis. As a result, it revealed that there are various difficulties in learning English due to the learning resources, quality of teaching and teacher, curriculum, learner, physical environment and opportunities, education system, family and environment. In this case, it can be recommended to prepare appropriate materials and develop/enrich coursebooks for the development of students' four language skills, to simplify the English curriculum, to choose the topics covered in the course materials from daily life in accordance with the students' level, interests, needs and cultures.
