Bu çalışma, Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Öğretmenliği Bölümü son sınıf öğrencilerinin demokratik eğitimle ilgili görüşlerini saptamayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma 2017-2018 Eğitim-Öğretim yılı 1. dönem Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Öğretmenliği bölümünde Çağdaş ve Demokratik Eğitim dersini alan gönüllü 23 öğrencinin görüşlerine dayanan nitel bir çalışmadır. Veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla yüz yüze görüşme yapılarak toplanmıştır. Bulgular, Tema 1. Demokrasinin tanımı: halk egemenliği (f=16) Tema 2. Demokrasi kavramları: özgür düşünceli insan: düşüncelerini rahat ve özgürce ifade edebilen insan (f=15) üretken birey: yeniliklere açık ve yenilik getiren birey (f=7) araştırmacı birey sorgulayan (f=21) demokrat insan: farklı düşüncelere saygılı (f=12)Tema 4 Demokrasi eğitiminin amacı: Özgür düşünce ve yaşam hakkı (f=12) Tema 5. Demokrasi eğitiminin bireye kazanımları: İfade ve düşünce özgürlüğü (f=10)Tema 6 Demokrasi eğitimi ilkesinin önemsenme durumu önemsenmiyor (f=7)Tema 7. Okulların demokrasinin işlevleri yerine getirme durumu: Müfredat ve uygulamalardaki aksaklıklar nedeniyle yerine getirilemiyor(f=18)Tema 8. Okulların demokrasi işlevlerini yerine getirmesi için öneriler: Okullarda daha fazla tartışma ortamı yaratılmalı (f=13) öğretmenlerce özgür ortamlar yaratılmalı (f=10)Tema 9. Demokratik tutum ve davranışlar: Okul ve sınıf başkanlık seçimleri (f=6) Tema 10. Anti-demokratik tutum ve davranışlar: Öğrencilere şiddet uygulama (f=5) şeklindedir. Sonuç olarak, öğrencilerin demokrasi algıları ve demokratik eğitimle ilgili değerlendirmelerinden almış oldukları Çağdaş ve Demokratik Eğitim dersinden teorik olarak yararlandıkları, belli bir oranda bilgi sahibi oldukları ancak, okullardaki demokratik eğitim uygulamalarını yetersiz buldukları anlaşılmaktadır. Öğrencilerin demokratik tutum ve davranış kazanabilmesi için, okulların demokrasi kültürünün yaşanabileceği örgütlere dönüştürülmesi önerilir.

Abstract:

This study aims to determine the opinions of the students of the Department of Computer and Teaching Technologies on democratic education. Study 2017-2018 Education-Teaching Year 1st semester Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Computer and Teaching Technologies Teaching Department is a qualified study based on the opinions of 23 volunteers taking the course of Contemporary and Democratic Education. The data was collected by face-to-face interviews with a semi-configured interview form. Results, Theme 1 The definition of democracy: popular sovereignty (f=16); Theme 2. Democracy concepts: free-thinking man: the man who can express his thoughts freely and freely (f=15); the productive individual: the individual who is open to innovation and innovation (f=7); the researcher individual; the questioner (f=21); the democratic man: respecting different thoughts (f=12); Theme 4 The purpose of democracy education: the right to free-think and life (f=12); Theme 5. The achievements of democracy education to the individual: Freedom of expression and thought (f=10); Theme 6 The importance of the principle of democracy education (f=7); Theme 7. The state of the functioning of the democracy of schools: it cannot be fulfilled due to the failures in the programming and practice (f=18); Theme 8. Recommendations for schools to fulfill their democratic functions: More debate should be created in schools (f=13); Free environments should be created by teachers (f=10); Theme 9. Democratic attitudes and behaviors: School and class presidential elections (f=6); Theme 10. Anti-democratic attitudes and behaviors: Violence against students is in the form of action (f=5). As a result, it is clear that students have theoretically benefited from the course of Contemporary and Democratic Education, which they have received from their perceptions of democracy and assessments on democratic education, and that they have a certain degree of knowledge, but they find democratic educational practices in schools insufficient. In order for students to gain democratic attitude and behavior, it is recommended that schools be transformed into organizations where a democratic culture can be experienced.

According to the findings, themes are listed as Theme 1: Definition of democracy: popular sovereignty (f=16); Theme 2: Concepts of democracy: free thoughtful people: people who can express their thoughts freely (f=15); productive individual: open to innovation and make innovation(f=7);researcher individual; questioning person(f = 21);democratic man: respectful of different ideas (f = 12);Theme 4: The aim of democracy education: The right to free thought and life (f = 12);Theme 5: The achievements of the democracy education to the individual: Freedom of expression and thought (f = 10);Theme 6: The importance of the principle of democracy education is ignored (f = 7); Theme 7: The status of schools to fulfill the functions of democracy: Due to problems in the curriculum and applications cannot be fulfilled (f = 18); Theme 8. Suggestions for schools to perform their democracy functions: More discussion opportunities should be created in schools (f = 13); teachers should create free environments (f = 10); Theme 9. Democratic attitudes and behaviors: School and class presidential elections (f = 6); Theme 10: Anti-democratic attitudes and behaviors: Applying violence to students (f = 5).As a result, it is understood that students who took Contemporary and Democratic Education coursehad a certain amount of theoric knowledge, but they found that the democratic education practices in schools were inadequate. In order for students to gain democratic attitude and behavior, it is recommended that schools be transformed into organizations where a culture of democracy can be experienced.
