Osmanlı Devletinin denizlerinde yer alan liman kentlerinde yapılan ticari faaliyetler konumuzun sınırlarını oluşturmaktadır. Dönem olarak 16-18 yy arasında ve yelkenli gemilerle yapılan ticaretin yaşandığı limanlardan kesintilerle vurgulanmıştır. Liman kentlerinde ki ticari yaşantının yanında ticarete konu olan ürünlere de yer verilmiştir. Dönemin liman faaliyetlerinde yaşanan sıkıntılar karşısında Osmanlı Devletinin aldığı önlemlere kronolojik sırada verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Karadeniz de bulunan limanlar, Marmara Denizinde bulunan limanlar, Ege Denizinde bulunan limanlar, Akdeniz de bulunan limanların ticaret tarihi açısında değerlidir. Bu çalışma Deniz Ticareti üzerine çalışacak araştırmacılara yardımcı olması acısından ayrıca öneme sahiptir. Osmanlı imparatorluğunun uluslararası ticaretinde Batının üstünlüğünün kesinleşmesi 18. yüzyılda olmuştu. Osmanlı Devletinin çok kısa zamanda tarih sahnesinden silinmemesi, gerileme ve yıkılışının bile 200 sene sürmesi deniz stratejilerinin sayesinde olmuştur. Alt yapı yetersizliği ve salgın hastalıkların yanında yabancı şirketlerle çok kıyasıya bir rekabet söz konusudur. İktisat tarihinde 16.-18 Yüzyılda Osmanlının deniz ticareti üzerine yapılan bu çalışma yelkenli gemilerle modernleşme çabaları temel olarak ele alınmıştır. Deniz ticaretinin temellinde iktisat ve iktisat tarihi açısından politik, askeri, idari birçok konuyu kapsamakta olsa da aslen deniz ticaret konusu üzerinden ilerlemektedir. Osmanlı Devleti’nde hızla genişleyen Avrupa ticaretinin, Tanzimat reformları ortamında, denizcilik açısından yeşerttiği bir diğer sonuç ise ticarî denizciliğin uluslararası standartlarda yapılandırılması çalışmalarını başlatmasıdır.
Commercial activities in the port cities located in the seas of the Ottoman State constitute the boundaries of our subject. During the 16-18th century, the trade with ships was highlighted by cuts from the ports where trade was carried out. In the cities of the port, the commercial life is also placed for the products that are subject to trade. In the face of the difficulties in the port activities of the period, the measures taken by the Ottoman State were tried to be given in chronological order. The ports in the Black Sea, the ports in the Marmara Sea, the ports in the Egean Sea, the ports in the Mediterranean Sea are valuable in terms of the trade history. This study is also important to help the researchers to work on maritime trade. The establishment of the superiority of the West in international trade of the Ottoman Empire was in the 18th century. The fact that the Ottoman State was not removed from the stage of history very shortly, even the degradation and collapse took 200 years thanks to its marine strategies. In addition to sub-structure insufficiency and epidemic diseases, there is a wide-ranging competition with foreign companies. This work on the Ottoman maritime trade in the 16th and 18th centuries in the history of the economy was mainly addressed by the modernization efforts of ships. The basis of maritime trade is the political, military, and administrative issues of the history of economics and economics, but in fact it progresses through the topic of maritime trade. Another result of the rapid expansion of European trade in the Ottoman state, in the context of Tanzimat reforms, is the beginning of the work on the structure of trade maritime in international standards.
