Amaç: Hemodiyaliz ile ilişkili komplikasyonların yönetiminde Benson relaksasyon yönteminin etkisini değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Literatür taraması yıl sınırlaması olmaksızın Science Direct, Web of Science, Springer Link, The Networked Digital Library of Theses & Dissertations, Ovid, CINAHL, Pubmed, Cochrane library, Proquest, Yükseköğretim Kurulu Ulusal Tez Merkezi, ULAKBIM veri tabanlarında yapılmıştır.
The purpose is to evaluate the effect of the Benson relaxation method in the management of complications associated with hemodialysis. Tools and Methods: Literature scan is done in the Science Direct, Web of Science, Springer Link, The Networked Digital Library of Theses & Dissertations, Ovid, CINAHL, Pubmed, Cochrane library, Proquest, Higher Education Council National Thesis Center, ULAKBIM databases. The collection is carried out in accordance with the Cochrane systematic collection guide. Seven randomized controlled studies were included in the study. Results: In the studies included, the impact of Benson relaxation method on pain, fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, sleep and quality of life was assessed. All studies have been trained with patients related to the Benson relaxation method. The application procedure has been applied in the same way in six studies and has not been specified in one study. The relaxation method in the studies was applied 56-112 sessions, 15-20 minutes and twice a day. All studies involved in the collection have used valid and reliable measurement tools in the symptoms assessment. The result: Benson relaxation method has been shown to be effective in improving fatigue, stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, quality of life, and has not been effective in depression. Planning of evidence-based studies on the effects of the Benson relaxation method is recommended to be reflected in patient care as a holistic nursing initiative
Objective: To evaluate the effect of Benson’s relaxation technique in the management of hemodialysis-related complications. Material and Methods: Systematic searches were conducted in Science Direct, Web of Science, Springer Link, the Networked Digital Library of Theses & Dissertations, Ovid, CINAHL, Pubmed, Cochrane library, Proquest, Council of Higher Education National Thesis Center, and ULAKBIM databases. Cochrane systematic review handbook was used in the review. Results: The effects of the Benson relaxation on pain, fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, and quality of sleep and life were evaluated in the included studies. Patients were trained related to Benson’s relaxation. The procedure of the relaxation was same in six studies and there was no information in one study. Intervention was applied 56-112 sessions, 15-20 minutes and twice a day in the studies. Valid and reliable instruments were used in symptom assessment in the included studies. Conclusion: As a result of this review, it has been shown that Benson’s relaxation technique has positive effects on pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, anxiety, stress, and the quality of life and no effect on depression. It is recommended that evidence-based studies on the effects of Benson relaxation method be planned and it reflected in patient care as a holistic nursing intervention
