Studies indicate that the COVID-19 epidemic has less negative effects on children than adults. This situation shows that there is a need for researches on the subject. During the epidemic period, parents have difficulty in child care and may experience a feeling of inadequacy. Therefore, nurses’ roles and responsibilities are as important as the role of parents in maintaining child health. Child nurses can act as counselors, educators and caregivers to guide parents and children. In the article, it is aimed to raise awareness about the transmission, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 in children to families and nurses working in pediatric clinics. For this purpose, the effects of COVID-19 on the newborn, childhood and adolescence period were discussed in the light of the literature and recommendations were made for the interventions of the pediatric health nurses during these periods.
