Abstract:

Postpartum period is a difficult life period in which the stress level of a person increases along with the physiological changes that occur in the mother. The majority of studies have that postpartum depression symptoms are similar or higher in the second group in women who are treated with assistant reproductive techniques and who are spontaneously pregnant. While this is the case, there is a perception in society, in the health staff, and even in the patients themselves, that women who have infertility treatment and childbirth do not experience depression complaints. In the presentation of this fact, a 36-year-old patient who was pregnant with the fifth in vitro fertilization treatment, who had various psychiatric problems during pregnancy and postpartum period, was discussed from different points of view.
