Abstract:

The type of leadership that treats employees badly in organizations, feeds on restlessness and unhappiness, reduces the motivation and productivity of those in the organization, and tends to narcissistic personality is expressed as toxic leadership. The aim of this study is to make a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications in the Web of Sciences (WoS) database on toxic leadership. In this direction, a bibliometric profile of scientific studies on "toxic leadership" published in the WoS database until 31.03.2023 was created. In line with the data drawn from the WoS database, 124 scientific studies have been reached from 2008, when the first publication on the concept was made, until 31.03.2023. According to the results obtained; His other publications are 87 articles, 16 book chapters; Articles, books, book reviews, etc. that are accessible to everyone. way of distribution. There are 240 authors who have published on the concept of toxic leadership. While 26 of these authors published a single title, 214 authors published joint studies with other authors. The highest number of publications related to the concept were 18 publications in 2015 and 19 publications in 2022, and the average annual citation rate was 5.7 in 2018. Another conclusion is that the countries of the authors who published on the concept are the USA, the UK and Turkey, respectively. The fact that Turkey is the 3rd country that publishes the most with the concept shows the interest in the concept.
