Accreditation is a self-monitoring process aimed at continu-ous improvement of qualifications. It is a system that enab-les institutions and/or their programs to self-assess in terms of performance standards and to make external evaluation by authorized accreditation bodies. It is of the most impor-tance that standardization is achieved in nursing education, where rapid change and development is experienced, and that the necessary conditions for improving the quality of education are provided. In this process, The educational resources used in the curriculum as the curriculum models, training methods, personnel policies, libraries, lectures, laboratories, computers, application areas, student assess-ment methods and methods for the evaluation of the curricu-lum are examined. For the accreditation of nursing educa-tion programs, the Association of Nursing Education Prog-rams Evaluation and Accreditation (HEPDAK) was authori-zed by the Council of Higher Education Quality Board. In this context, the first three nursing programs accredited by HEPDAK in Turkey are the Ege and Atatürk Universities Faculty of Nursing and Erciyes University Health Sciences Faculty Nursing Department. Koç University Faculty of Nursing is also accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
