Abstract:

It can be said that at the beginning of scientific and technological developments considered as one of the main driving forces of globalization, internet and computer technology has come. Computer and communication technologies, which are constantly evolving every day and growing and characterized as the 4th industrial revolution, radically change the nature of global relationships and deeply influence and shape the changing environment in contemporary society. On the other hand, these changes which are serving to globalization are mainly seen in the economic, political and socio-cultural field, are spreading and strengthening with new information technologies and internet that are developing at an unprecedented speed. The emergence of new media technologies and associated social networks is being rapidly transferred to younger generations. Computers, smart phones, tablets and similar technological devices are essential today. The cyber culture, which is the result of the cultural transformation that information and communication technologies reveal, is affecting the younger generations socio-culturally and commodifying the individuals with the spread of computer networks. This cultural change and transformation, in addition to many other fields, also affects the field of intangible cultural heritage, especially cultural diversity. The intangible cultural heritage elements that constitute the whole of traditions, customs, oral expression and practices that mankind has produced in thousands of years, have been lost in the process of globalization.The aim of this study is to examine the cultural changes caused by the rapid diffusion of new communication technologies within the context of globalization and to question the effects of this change on the intangible cultural heritage.
