Abstract:

The economic social and cultural poverty that arises due to many reasons is one of the most important problems in our era. Unfairness in the world’s income distribution is the economic basis of poverty, while social and cultural differences contribute to the deepening of the problem. The problem of poverty and gender, which is the problem of the whole world, is based on the study that the problem varies according to these titles. When we look at poverty in rural and urban differences, we can see that sociological effects deepen the economic consequences and that poverty is more severe. When we analyze poverty on the basis of the difference between women and men, it is also evident that social and cultural impacts deepen the poverty status of women. This result is effective in consolidating economic disadvantages by social codes. In this study, the poverty of women in the countryside and the causes of adulthood were addressed by the example of Sanlıurfa. For this purpose, the survey data carried out in the countryside and the profound interviews with women were evaluated.
