Abstract:

This research is designed to study candidates for sports managers in terms of the relationship between leadership directions and social intelligence levels. The research group consists of a total of 379 final-class students, including 155 (40.6) women and 224 (58.6) men, who studied in eight sports management departments during the spring period of the 2017-2018 educational-educational year. In the research, the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher as a data collection tool was used by Silvera and his friends (2001) and the "Tromso Social Intelligence Scale" developed by Silvera and his friends (2009) and the "Leadership Orientation Scale" developed by Dereli (2003). The results obtained as a result of the data collection process were transferred to the computer environment, the analysis and interpretation of the data used visual statistics (frequency, arithmetic average, standard deviation), t-test, one-factor variance analysis (One-Way ANOVA) and the Pearson correlation ratio was calculated. The results of the analysis have found that the leadership and social intelligence levels of the sports manager candidates have a significant difference between gender, sports industry, the state of active sporting, the type of entry to school.
