Abstract:

The Ottoman State has given special attention to the duty of ensuring security and security throughout the provinces. The Romeli provinces also took part in this importance and had the first regular units of the gendarmery. But in the process that began with the occupation of the Sharki Rumeli province by the Bulgarian princess, the Ottoman began to show influence in the Rumeli provinces, it also brought confusion in nationality. During the period when groups belonging to nationalities such as Bulgaria, Rumania, Serbia, and Albania were organized and disrupted, the Romanian provinces used both regular military unions and the gendarmery as a law force to prevent confusion. In our article, with the regulations and changes made by the gang as a law force, we discussed the activities of assurance and security in Rumeli in the years 1896-1901.
