Bugün imgelerin ne oldukları ve işlevleri hakkındaki söylemlere baktığımızda, imgelerin, ‘imge ve sözcük’ arasında süregiden çekişmeden bağımsız kendi doğaları hakkında konuşulduğu gerçeğiyle karşı karşıya kalıyoruz. Bu çalışmada, tanımlanan alana ilişkin uygun bir yer ve kuram, dolayısıyla eleştirel bir tavır bulma amacını taşıyarak Jacques Rancière’in imgelerin ne olduklarına ilişkin görüşleri ele alınacaktır. Rancière, estetik rejim olarak adlandırdığı modernizm ve sonrasında ortaya çıkan sanata ilişkin bütün görüntü rejimlerinin aslında yaşam ve sanat arasında bir ortaklık arayan bir programın parçası olduğunu iddia ediyor. Rancière günümüzde imgelerden başka bir gerçeklik olmadığını temellendirmeye çalışan teorik bakışın da aslında temsili rejime karşı çıkan aynı programdan kaynaklandığını öne sürüyor. Bu makale’de imgelerin ilişkili oldukları bağlamdan kopuk kendilerine özgü bir gerçeklikleri olup olmadığı tartışılacaktır. Bu amaçla, estetik rejimi hazırlayan imgelerin daha önceki formüle edilme biçimlerine değindikten sonra, estetik imgenin farklı fazlarına tanıklık edeceğimiz Roland Barthes, Stéphen Mallermé ve Peter Behrens’in imgelerine ve imge kuramlarına başvuracağız.
Today, when we look at the statements about what the images are and their functions, we face the fact that the images are discussed about their own nature, independently of the period of conflict between 'image and word'. This study will address the views of Jacques Rancière on what the images are, with the aim of finding a suitable place and theory about the defined area, therefore a critical attitude. Rancière claims that modernism and all the image regimes related to the art that it calls aesthetic regime are actually part of a program seeking a partnership between life and art. Rancière suggests that the theoretical view that is trying to establish that there is no other reality than the images today is actually derived from the same program that is opposed to the representative regime. In this article, the images will be discussed whether they have a specific reality from the context in which they are related. For this purpose, after referring to the former forms of formulation of the images preparing the aesthetic regime, we will refer to the images and the theories of the image of Roland Barthes, Stéphen Mallermé and Peter Behrens, who will witness the different stages of the aesthetic image.
