This article aims to show the intellectual role of Indonesian Ulama in al-Haramayn, particuparly in the field of Hadith during the 13th and 14th centuries Hijri. They joined other scholars to enliven the hadith narration with high credibility of Isnād. This tradition has been known since long ago by hadith experts who narrate a hadith from a teacher (sheikh) of higher authority, thereby shortening the distance between the narrator source and the Prophet Muhammad within the Isnād chain. The method used is a qualitative method with descriptive approach. The author traces their narration from their teachers of ascending-chain and descending-chain (Sanads). The finding in this study is that the intellectual role of Indonesian Ulama was of equal to the world's Ulama in Haramayn (Makkah-Medinah) at that time. They enliven the narration of both the Ascending-chain (Isnād ‘Āli) and the Descending-chain (Nāzil).
