Abstract:

The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between marital quality and forgiveness, dyadic trust and styles of humor. The research includes 367 married individuals who live in Burdur province. In the research, Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale, Heartland Forgiveness Scale, Dyadic Trust Scale, Humor Styles Questionnaire and Personal Information Form which was prepared to participants was used.Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient was used to investigate the relationship between marital quality and forgiveness, dyadic trust and styles of humor; Stepwise Regression Analysis was used to investigate that marital quality of forgiveness, dyadic trust and styles of humor predict or not predict. As a result of anova was detected that there are differences between forgiveness and all forgiveness dimensions with aggressive humor. In conclusion, it was detected that dyadic trust, forgiveness and aggressive humor style predict meaningly as a consequence of Stepwise Regression Analysis which revealed predictors of martial quality. Martial quality is associated with dyadic trust and forgiveness possitively; it is associated with aggressive humor negatively. The findings were discussed in line with the relevant literature, and it was seen that the use of healthy humor has preventive, curative and developmental functions in structures such as marriage where mutual exchange is intense.
